About

It all started when...

If you haven't read my story, "When the Darkness Comes", please do.

I fell in love with mountains the first time I saw them at age 6.  Also from a young age I have loved art.  As a student in high school and college, I worked in wheel throwing pottery.  I picked up doing pottery again when I moved to Durango in 2008. Soon after, my back and hand injuries gave reason to make a which.  I now combine my love for art and mountains with digital photography.

With backpack and camera, I spend as much time as I can in the mountains. Time is not on my side.  I recently lost all vision in my left eye.  I will soon loss all vision.  Also I have little sense of gravity.  My loss of sight and balance are due to an injury to my brain stem as a young child.

Just as time is short for me, the same can be said for the forests of Colorado's mountain wilderness.  The Spruce trees are dying quickly.  It will affect all mountain wild life, the creek and rivers; and even the speed in which the mountains erode.

As you can see my connection to the wilderness is deep.  It is my passion to share with the world my mountain images . Images from deep within the wilderness, far from any road or jeep trails, and many times far from any foot trail.

I live in Durango, Colorado. My commute to the wilderness is a short one.
